This was an alternate model based on concept art by my friend Local. This model was proposed for the War of the Worlds game to act as an alternative design while still using the same body plan as the 2005 tripod so animations wouldn't have to be redone. It's both made to avoid copyright infringement and also an alternative model you can switch between
I love how the new Tripod also sends out a trail of Black Smoke, similar to the original book. That's a bonus point!

The dev’s said it’s just exhaust from the heat rays burning so it’s not black smoke, but they said they might add it

It's the alternative design made in case Paramount doesn't like the fact that their original tripod model is being used in a paid game. So they made a modernistic variation that looks different, but gives off the same vibes as the 05 model
